Re: xvid avi files in Movie Maker?

I'm having the exact same prblem!
I have a .avi movie which has video encoded in xvid and audio in mp3.
According to microsoft @ 'File formats supported by Windows Movie Maker
in Windows XP' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308464), this obviously
isn't supported.
Any way to fix this?

If you cannot import the file...it may be worth a try
to convert the file to a compatible format like .wmv.

Maybe one of the following free programs would
be worth a try:

SUPER © Simplified
Universal Player Encoder & Renderer

(the mirror download site is faster)

Windows Media Encoder

or...

How do I convert other video file formats to WMV?
