Music - "unknown artist"

With my old XP machine when I ripped a CD and wasn't online it was
classed as "unknown artist". Later when connected to the net, all these
unknown folders would magically transform to the appropriate titles etc,
including CD cover. My machine did this automatically as soon as I
connected to the internet.

With my new Vista machine this doesn't happen. I have just ripped my
entire CD collection (was offline) but when I went online later the
folders remained "unknown artist". Vista hasn't updated them as I
expected.

Is there a simple way to solve this problem? How can I get Vista to
make the connection XP did automatically? The last thing I want to do
is rip them all again!

I don't have I-tunes btw but do have a Zen Vision M with all the
appropriate software installed. Could that help...?

And they are all bona fide bought CDs too so there is no problem from
that perspective.

It's possible that the "Retrieve additional information from the Internet"
check box on the Library options tab is not selected. Try selecting that
check box.
