Jared,
Windows Experience Index score must be 3.0 or higher, in order for the Slideshow Themes to work. However, the Microsoft Photography Blog published a hack using which you can mimic a high WEI score.

As noted in the article, the hack does not come with any guarantees that it will work well.

Hey guys, not a complete problem but just a concern.
Alright, I read on Paul Thurrot's Windows SuperSite that when playing a
slideshow, there are a few themes that you are able to choose from.
Unfortunately, I can't use any of them. I consulted the help manual and it
said that the themes aren't available for PCs with lower-end graphics cards.
I am currently on a HP Pavilion DV6000Z with an AMD Turion 64x2, 1.8GHz, 2Gb
of RAM, and a 128mb Nvidia Go 6150. Now my friend who also has an HP but with
a 256mb graphics card can't play teh Slideshow Themes either.
So I was wondering if this is some kind of "fault" or do the themes REALLY
demand an 880GT or some other high-end GFX card to run ?
THANX
Jared
