windows movie maker and avi files

hey there im having a problem with windows movie maker, it wont import
any .avi files, sounds or video.. on my older computer with vista i was
able to import .avi files.... why wont it let me do so. if someone would
get back to me that would be amazing!

there are lots of different kinds of .avi files, many of which don't work in
Movie Maker, and need conversion to ones that do.... see my website's Import
Movie Source Files > Video > AVI page.
