Re: Windows Photo Import Autoplay Option gone
OH SHOOOOTTTTTTT!! I'm so sorry Ramesh. It's all my fault for not reading
proper.

Ok here's my problem. I slot my card into the card reader and Autoplay pops
up. I then select the Import Photos (using windows) and a small rectangular
box opens up on the bottom right hand side of the screen. Initially, it has
the Options link (e.g. file's names/folder's name, rotate pic, delete pics
after importing, etc). After a few uses (i was still exploring the options
and not yet 'settled down'), around 5 i think, this programme just assumes
that i want a certain set of options forever and decided not to ask me again
before it starts importing.

Meaning, when i click on Import Photos (using windows), it just scans the
card, and then import photos immediately!!!!

Is there any way I can edit the options? Please
advise...........................

Re: Windows Photo Import Autoplay Option gone
Hi Monica,

You can always get back to those options in Windows Photo gallery. In the
Gallery, click File and then click Options. Cl;ick the Import tab, and
you'll see all the available options for controlling the photo import
wizard. You can find more information in this help topic:

RE: Windows Photo Import Autoplay Option gone
I am having the same problem. Up until today, when I inserted my memory card
with photos on it, I had several options. All of a sudden today, I only have
one option, which is to open the folder to view files.

I ran the regsvr commands, and now I have the import option back, which is
good because that is the one I use most of the time.

However, if I recall correctly I used to have one or two other options to
choose from, I think one of them was to view pictures with windows photo
viewer.

How can I get all the options back?

More importantly, why did I lose these options. The only thing I can think
of is that I uninstalled a trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS3 in between
when the autoplay was working and when it failed. Is this likely the source
of this problem?

Should I consider using system restore to go back to before I installed and
uninstalled the Photoshop CS3 trial?

RE: Windows Photo Import Autoplay Option gone
I have a similar problem in which I want to move pictures from my compact
card using Nikon View. I looked at the choices in the Control Panel under
auto run, but I need to see Nikon View in order to select it as the default
program to auto run, and of course it isn't there. It was a simple matter in
XP, but I have looked every where in Vista and can't find the answer.

Windows Autoplay
I have a similar problem but your suggested fix did not help... When I attach
my Canon camera the box comes up asking what program to use but when I select
ACDSee9 nothing happens... If I choose Jasc Paint or Word it works fine ? Any
help would be appreciated...

Re: Windows Autoplay
Yours is a completely different problem. It appears that the ACDSee9 autoplay handler is broken. See if reinstalling the application fixes the problem.

Re: Windows Photo Import Autoplay Option gone
Hi, I've got teh same problem, I've tried the regsvr32 entries, unplugged the
USB, etc.
Still no dice.
It used to work for about two months, but now I have to start up Windows
Photo Gallery to manually import. Also, I noticed WPG will not exit normally
(after I close, it would still be in memory). I have to go manually to kill
it, otherwise I cannot restart WPG.
Help!

Re: Windows Photo Import Autoplay Option gone
Ramesh:

I have tried all of your suggestions in this thread and I still can't get
autoplay to import my pictures from my canon rebel xti. Currenty, when I
open the autoplay window, i have "import pictures using windows" selected for
pictures and, what is weird, i have two identicle entries for my camera under
"Devices". For both of these entries i have selected "import pictures using
windows".

Because the above hasn't worked since the first time, i usually go to
start/computer where my camera is identified and right click than select
import pictures.

Any help is appreciated...thanks in advance...j
