Streamed WMVs fail to load in Firefox

I recently bought a Dell Studio 15 with Vista, and since I've had it I have
not been able to watch WMVs streamed through the internet.

When I click a video, it comes up with a 'Video is Loading...' sign, and
then nothing happens.

I'm tearing my hair out with this, can anyone help?!

Does it work in IE?

Nope, in IE I get a 'cannot display page' page.

Do streamed audio files work?
