Please help or explain etc

I Have a portable hard drive that I hook to my Satalite box and record.
I want to take those recordings,which are trp files. What are the
stepsto record using windows dvd maker. I have read until I am blue in
the face. I converted the trp files to mpg and put the file in DVD maker
, recorded and the audio is 3-5 seconds slower than video. Any
suggestions?

What file format is the sound file?

trp files are very compressed Mpeg4 files and when converting to DVD
compatable files the conversion is adding/removing frames to
compensate...hence why the video and sound is going out of sync
(probably more so as you play the video)
