RE: when play a dvd, heats up & locks up
First thing is to discover whether the DVD drive had gone bad or not.
Connect an external DVD player via USB and see if playing different types of
DVD's does or does not create the same problems.
You may have to buy an extra DVD player from Best Buy or someplace like that
(under $100), but it's good to own one as a backup.
