WMP Problems

Is there a way to download and install the WMP from XP? On my old machine
with the XP version used there worked 100%. The Vista WMP works 2%. Looks
like I'm not the only person who has problems with it. Maybe someone from
Microsoft should do something about it?
My laptop with XP has no problems with the earlier version of WMP and works
great.

WMP 11 comes installed with Vista and cannot be uninstalled. WMP versions for
XP cannot be installed on Vista. The troubles that you are having with Vista
WMP is most likely due to: 1) media files that were not properly converted by
the original creator to work on Vista WMP 11. 2) damaged OS files.

You didn't define your 'problems' at all and thus it's kind of hard to
speculate on what any potential solution for those problems would be. =\
