Vista and iTunes error – please help!
I have downloaded iTunes (ver 7.7) 4 times to my new Vista machine and still
get the same problem…as soon as I open up iTunes I get a Microsoft Windows
message which says ‘Apple MobileDeviceHelper has stopped working – Windows is
checking for a solution to the problem….’ This is then followed by another
message ‘a problem caused the programme to stop working correctly. Windows
will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.’
The problem is whether you close this message or not, it keeps coming up ad
infinitum (to a maximum of 32 times!) every 8 seconds …and if I connect the
iPod I get an error message that it can’t get syncing information and then
the programme freezes…I have uninstalled the programme Apple Mobile Device
Support which was bundled in the iTunes download, this solves the problem
with the recurring error message but then iTunes does not detect the iPod
when you plug it in.
Has anybody else had this problem? I am having to sync my iPod on my old XP
machine until I can sort this out. I would be grateful if anyone can offer
any assistance..
