pc volume

hi i have been trying to play a old cd on my laptop this is not working there
is no volume at all even though this is on highest possible, have tried other
cd's but this just the same am i being totaly thick ? would apprecaite any
help with this as doing my head in

Hi R x,

See if this may help:

Right click on the Volume icon in the bottom right corner and click
"Open Volume Mixer". See if there is a volume level for the CD/DVD that
needs to be unmuted or raised to a higher volume level.
