Corrupt Photos Courtesy Vista

On downloading photos from Nikon D80 to new m8100n computer, photos are
randomly corrupted and destroyed. Previously downloaded photos on external
hard drive have also been found by Vista and corrupted. Needless to say,
this is a significant problem and should receive much more attention by
Microsoft than has been given. On reading 2-3 hours worth of blog posts,
this is also a common problem without a clear solution - Vista is the common
thread. Microsoft???

Are you using Vista or Vista Service Pack 1? There's a fix for photos in
Vista Service Pack 1- if you don't have it, you should get it.
