e drive

everytime i put a cd into my drive it says that there is no cd?
any ideas

Is this with ALL CDs?
Can it still read/burn DVDs?

I'd suggest that the laser is really dirty, particularly if it's over a year
old and you read/write a lot of disks. If it's a desktop, it's an easy
piece of hardware to replace and quite often, a new optical drive is less
than a CD cleaning kit. If it's a notebook, it's a bit more tricky.
