Windows Movie Maker Error

Hi
firstly i am not able to drag and drop any media on the storyboard or
timeline option,neither am i getting any error msg.
secondly when i try using the auto movie maker it takes me to the whole
process and by the end of the analsys it gets an error "invalid pointer"
Has anyone got a inch of a clue on this,cause i am have idea.
