Win DVD Maker made DVD with sound and no video!!

I am trying to burn an AVI file to DVD. When I first tried to play it on WMP
i was able to hear the sound but not see the video. I did some researching
and figured out I needed to get the DivX codec... which i did, and then the
AVI played on my computer just fine. So I used Windows DVD Maker to burn that
file onto a DVD. it took over 2 hours to encode and burn to the DVD and then
I put it in the DVD player to test it out and theres no video again!!! so
frustrating!!! anyone have any ideas?

while i wait to see if anyone has any help for me i'm going to download a
program called AVI2DVD and see if that works. i like the menu's available on
Win DVD Maker though, so i really hope i can figure this out.
