Windows movie maker

I can't seem to figure out how to make a simple home movie. I've followed
every online and offline Windows Help I could and it's still not working.
I'm trying to copy video from one dvd to another......it's not copyrighted
material...just home movies and it won't let me import the files to be
burned. It's just being very difficult and i'm ready to pull my hair out.
Sometime I love Vista, other times I absolutely hate it! Anyone have any
ideas or suggestions?
