windows mail and wmp

My wmp used to open automatically when i received email with attatchments so
i could view them but now when i click to view the emails they start playing
without wmp opening!!!!!!! Please help
Other than it's generally unsafe to automatically open e-mails...it
would really depend on what you are opening I guess...have you installed
software recently...since it stopped working...that may have changed the
default application associated with media files?
