Other way around: it's hard-coded to only play extensions that it is
registered to play/handle. You should generally be able to extend playback
every which way so long as you have a properly configured third party
handler for that type. For the library, you'd need a third party library
handler.
Generally .vob would best be renamed to .mpg . =)
