Movie Maker has stop working - MS technical support doesn't help
I had this "Windows Movie Maker has stop working" error message when I tried
to publish the video or add transitions between video clips. I saw the
solution from MS technical support page:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923122

I followed the instruction and removed all video filters, but there problem
was still there......

Any idea??

RE: Movie Maker has stop working - MS technical support doesn't help
I had the same problem and when I clicked close MS gave me the problem and
the solution. My problem was caused by lmpgd10.ax and lmpgspl.ax files. I
had to unregister these binary. If you are having a similar error message, I
can tell you how to unregister these.

RE: Movie Maker has stop working - MS technical support doesn't he
I am having this problem currently in DVD Maker- I am unable to publish
movies to a DVD or play the story board in Movie Maker after i make the add
the clips to the story board, the error message is: Impgd10.ax. They suggest
unregistering the binary. How did you do this?

Re: Movie Maker has stop working - MS technical support doesn't he

That's the Ligos MPEG D-10 filter (and should be filename 'lmpgd10.ax' - why
is this installed to your system? Does Ligos have an update available for
you for this file? What does their support say about this? Since I believe
this is a commercial 3rd party add-on, you'd likely first want to contact
them to see if they have a newer/working version available.

If not, either uninstalling Ligos, deregistering it ( regsvr32 /u
%path_to_ligo_file% ) or renaming the file should fix you up.

RE: Movie Maker has stop working - MS technical support doesn't help
What about when it doesn't play at all, and you're getting NO error messages
of any kind? There weren't any filter issues, I've rebooted my computer
several times, and nothing helps. I can keep adding things to the timeline,
but it just won't play.

I just bought this new computer a couple weeks ago and am starting to regret
it. I've tried to contact Windows directly about several issues that may be
Vista incompatibilities, but they won't even acknowlege my PID # so that I
can get online help. I call and their phone system is never-ending.

I just want to make videos which I used to do on an old computer with the
old Matrox capture card and Adobe Premiere 6.0 software. Adobe can't help me
either since the version I use is old and Vista is too new. I don't want to
dig my old computer out...I want this "sophisticated" media center to work!

Can anyone help me?
