Re: Splitting a Media Center 2 hr Recorded Video to Burn on Two DVD's Help Needed
You could import it into Movie Maker, split it into two clips there. Publish
one clip to one DVD, the second clip to another DVD.
If there are commercials, and you edit those out in Movie Maker, you might
be able to fit the whole thing on one DVD, sans commercials.

Splitting a Media Center 2 hr Recorded Video to Burn on Two DVD's Help Needed
Hi
I am looking for a fix to burn a 2:05hr (two hours & five minutes) dvr-ms
file. The first time I tried to burn it, LOL it stuck at 73% for 4 hours.
Well, since this was the first time I used Vista Ultimate's DVDMaker (in XP
Pro I used Nero but Nero will not install on Vista), I thought maybe it was
the program, so LOL I started it on another Vista Ultimate 3.6 dual 8Gigz
Ram 8 Internal Hard Drives 1 that is 350gigz with over 200gigz free & it
stuck at 73% for 2 1/2 hours, gave me the same error on both PC's, but I
cannot remember what it was, then gave me another error on both, not enough
room to burn ....please put in another DVD & try again. Well, I wanted to
make sure the DVDMaker was working, so I burned a 30 minute Entertainment
Tonight Show I had recorded. Burned just fine on both PCs in 10 minutes.
After spending about 6 hours trying to find information on splitting the
video file so I can get it to burn onto two DVD's, I cannot find just
exactly what I am supposed to do, or how to do it.
I am running full boxed versions of Vista Ultimate on both computers & one
of the computer's is brand new that came loaded with Vista Ultimate full
version, not an upgrade. Both computers are dual-core & have lots of RAM (4
gigs plus) & free Hard Drive Space. My Vista Ultimate is 32-bit on both
Computer's.
Can anyone give me some insight on doing this please?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Re: Splitting a Media Center 2 hr Recorded Video to Burn on Two DVD's Help Needed
Oh okay! I was hoping there was a way to do it without having to buy
anything since Vista Ultimate comes with all the bells & whistles. I enjoy
having everything there working without problems. It seems many programs do
not work yet with Vista so being able to do it with what Vista offers is
great!
Thank you very much for the information. I will try this evening to see if
I can do it. There is commercials, so if I can edit them out it will save
about 30 minutes on the Video or more. That way I believe I can fit it all
on one DVD which would be best yet.
Thank you again for pointing me in the right direction.
