cannot get sound from my speakers

everything was working well before my niece got into the computer last week,
but now my sound wont play from my speakers, i've tried the mute button,
tried all the volume buttons simultaneouly, but i still cant get any sound
when i play a cd...any ideas?

Run System Restore to a time before the problem began.

Be sure take you're niece out of the computer, she's probably hungry.

my system restore was not recording earlier times.....there is no log, my
computer very new....i think someone just hit a wrong button somewhere but i
don't know where to look.

I don't understand your reference to "log" in conjunction with SR.
How did you try to run SR?
