WMP 11- cant view videos!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a laptop with WMP 11 installed and when I open and try to play a
videoclip,it just seems to stall out,and it keeps buffering; right now its
stuck on 38%..what would be the issue and why cant i see the video? I do
have lousy dialup but I doubt thats the issue.?
