You cannot reinstall Windows Media Player on Windows Vista as there is no
standalone installer for it. It's simply installed with Windows Vista.
You can certainly reset your DRM store without needing to reinstall Windows
Media Player. Reinstalling Windows Media Player would not actually reset
your DRM store, so the tech support is likely minorly confused here.
