Plays 5 minutes of video

I have this problem with WMP 11. I would try and play a video file and it
would work perfectly for about 5-10 minutes and then it tells me that WMP
cannot play this file. With an error code telling me that my sound card is
not working, but it is working fine and everything is in order. I have all
the right codex's to play the video file so I dont know what the problem is,
maybe someone can help me out with this

Which version of Vista have you?
32 bit or 64 bit?
Does this happen with commercial DVD movies; DVD movies you have made;
downloaded video files; other?
Has WMP ever played videos for more than 5 to 10 minutes? If so, what
changed?

Go to event viewer
Control panel
Admin tools
On the left, look for "windows logs".
Left click on the ****y tiny arrow in the lower left corner.
Left click on "system".
On any errors that occurred at the time your problem occurred.
Copy the information.
Paste it in a reply.

Do the same for "applications".

If the problem occurs when you are on the internet, go to "applications and
services". Left click on "internet explorer".
Look for errors.
