Send photos?

Using Vista with Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Mail. Steps I've taken:
I go Photo Gallery, highlight the photo, hit "email" on toolbar, resize the
picture when the dialog box pops up, click okay and then nothing. It does
not revert to my Windows Mail to address/send the photo. What am I missing?
