difficulty recording streaming audio

Dear friends,

I have a new quad core computer running Windows Vista Home edition. I have a
DMX 6fire sound card installed and the Vista soundcard has been disabled. I
am unable to record streaming audio, either through the Vista application or
downloaded applications. In these applications there are no other recording
device options presented other than the DMX, which has no onboard sound. In
these streaming audio applications neither the Wavetable synth or the midi
mapper are presented as options for recording streaming audio, even though
these options are presented in Band in a Box. Do I need to reinstall the
Vista soundcard? Any other suggestions?
