Still cannot make a movie!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have downloaded all my videos in three different formats. None of them
will drag and drop on the storyboard or on the timeline. I have read all of
the information in the help section but nothing "helps". Is this a common
glitch or am I just missing something?

What formats are the videos?

I have tried all settings that came up as default when downloading. AVI,
and WMV. I can get neither to drop on the timeline or storyboard. The
sample videos that came with Vista/Moviemaker will not drop on either (bear
in river and Eagle).
