Windows Movie Maker Errors out when creativing DVD

I recently purchased a DELL with vista installed and was hoping to turn
videos from my video camera, into DVDS using the windows movie maker
software. I have been able to make the DVD and as I am publishing the movie,
The encoding process errors out at 66.8%. It doesn't even make it to the
burning phase. Has any one had this issue or other issues with Windows movie
maker or windows dvd maker. I tried to get help from windows but since Dell
bought the license windows can't troubleshoot. Then I was on the phone with
Dell for two hours and they have no idea how to correct software issue. I am
looking for any help.
