window media 11 problem

Hello, I am running vista business, windows media player 11.
When playing a video file that has the wrong codec, a red X would display on
the right ride of media player in which I could click on and it would take me
to the web to find the codec, I inadvertently must have clicked "donot
display this" and cannot get the information to display on the side of media
player...
any thoughts?

Click on the blue arrow (Show list pane) next to the Search bar in the upper
right corner of the player window.

One thing u can do is to install VideoLan also known as VLC can be
downloaded at www.download.com
that program gets it all Exept some but verry strange if u cant see the
movie u want to..
