wmp11 streaming mp3

Hi!

I used to be able to stream mp3's from websites using wmp11. suddenly one
day I had to download the track first - the immediate streaming stopped. I
re-associated the file types and tried all the remedies I could find via
Google.

any ideas?

What happens when you try? Does it prompt you to download or save the file?

Had you installed some third party player recently? This kind of thing is
usually caused by a corrupted file association.

Hi zachd

thanx for the reply - I figured it out - it was leftovers from some deleted
programs.

I fixed it using regedit:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/mp3/OpenWithList

delete the subkeys of OpenWithList

it's weird so that none of the "official" file type reassociations fixed that

Under .mp3? The OpenWithList list there shouldn't actually have affected
this. I'm slightly confused. I'll bear that in mind as something to keep
an eye out for.
