Online Video Streaming with WMP 11

Hello. I can't play WMP streaming video on the internet. I have Vista and
am using WMP 11 and IE 7. Hope someone can help.

What exactly happens when you try?
Do local files still work?
Do streaming audio files still work?

When I tried to play them, the video screen is black with "Ready" in the
bottom right hand corner. So basically nothing happens :-)

Can you click on the video screen once, then right-click on it - do you get
an Error Details option in that list?
