Moviemaker and Indexing for Vista?

Ok, I try to put videos on moviemaker after putting them in a file from my
camera via SD card. I import or at least try to import my videos to
moviemaker but I get a notification that without being indexed, the files are
unusable. After several attempts at reindexing my files at yeilded nothing...

If I could get some help, I (and skateboarders the footage is of) would
really appreciate any help anyone could give...

try downloading the vista codecs,that should work the video,there free.

I am not totally sure I understand your reply...

i realy don,t know format,your using-wmv-avi-qt.were did the videos come from ?what kind of camera -i use kodak its inquicktime,the video will play but not the audio-the video has to be converted,to avi.i don,t know what you mean by index ?so best to convetr the videos to avi-or-wmv-ok

Camera- Kodak Z650
Original Format- .Mov
Converted to- .wmv
Vista uses an Index to speed up searches on your computer. Unindexed files
are unusable to Windows Movie Maker

HELP ANYONE!?!
