Media Player

My computer is a Dual core with a Gig of ram running vista with windows media
11. I was hooking up a line in connection with my wifes piano. We connected
the headphone to the line in and made recordings. Now when I use my media
player it will play all files including video file internet files it plays
everything except my album collection in my computer of all our CD's. They
are MP3 files that I used the player to rip from our CD's. Any ideas how to
put this back short of restore points? Does anyone understand what has
happened, I sure haven't been able to figure it out myself? The music is
playing, I can see the progress meter moving along but theres no sound. Mute
is not on. I can hear everything else.

I have just developed a similar problem. The file runs both in Media Centre
and Media Player but no sound. However it will play from iTunes. Video is OK
though. Tried everything nothing seems to work. Very strange.

In an interesting twist everything is fine if I switch to my wifes user
account. I checked that all the settings are the same - they are.
