Media Center - Widescreen
Myvideo when watching TV through Media Center has recently gone to 4x3 when
not in full screen mode. When viewing in full screen mode the TV video is
16x9 which is what my monitor supports. THe 4x3 non full screen display is
new...until a few days ago I have non full screen video that maintains the
16x9 format.

Any idea why the video size format all the sudden changed? I havn't made
any modifications to vista's setup and/or Media Center's set. Nor have i
changed any hardware and/or video settins. Basically I haven't touched
anything.

Aside from wanting to know how this happend, I am more interested in
changing it and returning to my 16x9 non full screen mode. However
everything I've tried (zoom, media center setup, resolution, etc) has failed
to bring 16x9 non full screen back.

Thanks in advance for any help and/or suggestions.

Re: Media Center - Widescreen

The same thing happened to me. I am running media center on a 1366x768
widescreen and unless it is in full screen mode it is 4:3. This started
about 2 months ago. Prior to that it was 16:9....
Any solutions to fix this?

same here, but here's what i also noticed.
looks like media center has been 'upgraded' so that if you have a widescreen display, you get a widescreen shaped window regardless of whether the source is only 4:3, HOWEVER, if you right click in the tv window when watching something, you will see a 'zoom' option, which you can select over and over for different zoom modes to stretch the video or not into the window. keep selecting the zoom command over and over to see the different modes. mode 4 seems to be a smarter mode and works fine for me.
