publishing film on computer/dvd

I've finished my project in Windows Movie Maker, but when I try to burn it on
dvd, it stops at approximately 30% without giving a cause. I tried putting it
on my computer, but that stops at about 30% as well, saying I should check
whether the files are still in the same place, the place I want to publish my
film in is still available and whether there's enough room on my computer.
I've checked all that and it's fine, so there's again no clear reason for
stopping. Can anyone help me?

Burning video files to a DVD that you intend to play in a set-top box is not
easy to accomplish regardless of the program that you use.
The Windows Movie Maker is among the worst programs.
First make sure your video file has been properly rendered and stored in
final fashion.
Turn off all background programs, like anti-virus et all that may pre-empt
the CPU.
If it is important to you get a shrink wrapped program like Premiere
Elements or others.
Even then a finished DVD may or may not play in a DVD player attached to a
TV.
