.mov in Media Player
On my XP laptop, Media Player (9.00.00.3250, Prod. ID
55277-OEM-0011903-00110), .mov files play just fine.
This was also true on my old 'puter which had XP Pro (it crashed so I am
stuck with Vista).
Media Player in Vista will not play my .mov files.
Any suggestions or fixes for this?
P.S. I will not install or run Quick Time, so don't suggest that.

..mov is a proprietary format owned by Apple, so you'll need to get a codec
from Apple or a third-party. I hear the Vista Codec Package at the URL below
will play .movs, but I haven't tried it myself:
