WMP 11 not discovering my Creative Zen V Plus running Vista Home P

Hello and thanks in advance for the help. Couldn't find an answer in my
search so posting here. Now to it:

I have a Creative Zen V Plus that i am trying to sync w/ WMP 11 and transfer
music etc. It had worked in the past and has recently stopped. I wish I could
tell you after what update or firmware change, but I can't since sometimes I
use Creative Media Center and sometimes WMP 11.

The particulars of my system-
Vista Home Premium
WMP 11 11.0.6000.6344
Updated firmware on Zen V Plus (latest avail update as of todays date)

The Zen is recognized on my computer, can see it listed on "Computer" tab.
Zen is also recognized on Creative Media Center. When Zen is connected via
USB, task selector opens, I click "sync using WMP" which then opens. the
green little check-mark says "detecting" then disapears. Under the WMP sync
pane, says "connect device".

I have removed the device under device manager, restarted the computer, and
reconected the zen. Zen is recognized and driver installed, but it still
doesnt work with WMP.

Please help!
