Delete folders in media center?

I'm now using windows media center in vista.

I used to use a program called Mediaportal, and one of the best features was
the ability to maintain folders while in media center (if i had recorded
shows organized into folders, and finished watching all the files in a
particular folder, i could do routine maintainence by deleting the empty
folder afterwards)

Is there a registry tweak, or possibly and upcoming update that will allow
me to delete folders while sitting back on my couch?

Being able to delete files after watching them is awesome, and all, but the
thought of all those empty folders i'm creating is a real pain.

Please advise!

Reinstall MediaPortal? The volume control doesn't work as expected, at least
not in mine, but otherwise works more or less as in XP.
