Monitor Calibration

I am having trouble getting my Vista laptop to recognize a custom monitor
profile created by an X-Rite Eye One Display 2 monitor calibration unit. The
calibrated profile appears to be active until the computer is shut down.
After that, the old display settings come back. When the computer is booting
up, I can see the color change (old to calibrated and then back to old). The
calibrated profile is listed under advanced display options as being the
default but somehow is being overridden.
