When installing QuickTime you should
see an option that allows you to set
it as the default viewer.

Actually...it can be confusing. All I can
say is you'll have to experiment with it.
I just use it on the default settings.
If you purchase the retail version of QuickTime...
it has an option for converting .mov files to
other formats.
