playing midi files on WMP-11

ok i give up! i cannot seem to get WMP to play midi files to my Boss DR-880
drum machine. the device shows up in my device manager, and i can send midi
from my Allegro music scoring program with no problems. i dont even see
where to sellect the 880 as the output device in the library-options menu.
the midi files play ok thru the speakers. and on the
options-devices-speaker-properties-advanced page, i only have one choice, the
compaq's speakers! it doesnt show up in the HELP anyone.
