CD/DVD Driver issues

Hi. My CD/DVD drive was working fine until today. i put a CD in to play and
nothing happened. The drive does not even appear in My computer. I have
looked at the drivers in devie manager and the CD/DVD Driver says "This
device cannot start. (Code 10)" and has the little yellow icon with the red
exclamation mark on it. can anyone help me?
I have checked for all driver updates and installed them, but it still
doesnt work. I have looked through the Microsoft help menu but nothing seems
to be of any use.

That sounds like a hardware failure. What do the people that sold you the
computer say about this... ?
