Formatting

When I format a CD-RW disk which is 700MB the dialog box says that it is only
473MB in size. I am trying to copy photo's which should easily fit into
700MB but the disk is full after only half have been burnt.

I have a new Dell with Vista Business and I get the same thing. What's up?

I dunno, but the formatting takes some space.
I have a 650 MB CD-RW, formatted UDF, and it shows 483 MB total.

BTW, many posters on here recommend just throwing away RW disks and just
using DVD-R, since the DVDs hold so much more, and are so cheap (I just
bought 100 for $35), and problems with RW disks not being read in other
computers.
