Media center cannot find audio or video files

when i use media center on vista prem and open folders with music and video
the center says that the folders are empty, but these folders are not empty
and the files can be played with media player 11....
anyone know what's up with this????????

I am using Ultimate with the same results. If I sort by date taken though the
files are there and can be played. If I select folder, I am told the folder
is empty???

What file types are they?

They were avi files but even the 3 MS supplied sample files behave in the
same way.

My windows media center under Vista premium sees empty folders for my
pictures and they are not empty. They worked untill I installed wireless
network and Adobe photoshop. Anybody know anything about this?
