EXIF Orientation and automatic Jpeg rotation
My Canon camera has a built-in orientation sensor. This sets the EXIF
orientation flag in the image file's metatdata to automatically rotate the
image for later viewing. This avoids the need for rotating the images
manually.
All my Adobe and Canon software interpret the orientation correclty. But all
Microsoft's software ignore this metadata. This includes "Windows Photo
Gallery", "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" and "Windows Explorer".
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate.
Is there a work around for this problem? Does Microsoft have any plans to
fix this problem?
