POP3 and SMTP

My protocol is SMTP but when I try to attach a picture to an e-mail it pops
up that the POP3 provider could not be found, how do I fix that?

Check your Server settings. You may have mixed them up. Who's your ISP?
You're using OE or Windows Mail?
