DVD Player, internet Videos and Burning

I have had trouble with Vista not letting me watch videos on the comp. unless
i pause them and let them load and them I can watch it. I also can not watch
a movie without it freezeing up or no sound. Then for the frist time I tryed
to burn a DVD it went all the way converting the pics and sound but come time
to burn it it did nothing. tried for a second time and it froze up. Please
tell me how to get someone to help me. I have called Dell and they know
nothing about vista to help

Let's try one thing at a time. Do local audio files work? Do local video
files work? What specific file types work and which ones don't work? MP3?
WMA? AVI? MPEG? WMV?
