DVD copying

I burned my home video onto a DVD using my DVD player/recorder. I can play
it with QuickPlay on my computer, but can't upload it to my computer. I want
to make a copy of it, but when I open the disc drive where the disc is, it
shows empty. But it is not empty, and I can see it playing with QuickPlay.
Do I need another software program to view the data on the disc?

what dvd copying software do you have?
What happens when you tell this app to copy the disc?
