Works on MSN but won't record :-l

Howdy,

I just bought a brand-new HP laptop with a built-in webcam and microphone
and it works just fine except for one thing . . . The webcam won't let me
record any video clips anymore - it did once, the first time I tried to use
it to record a video birthday message, and I can replay that recording just
fine. But when I click the 'HP Webcam' option on the Quickplay main screen
it only provides a limited bar across the bottom of the screen and 'record'
is not one of the featured options. This is driving me crazy as I'd really
like to be able to record a message to send to friends overseas - that and
the fact that I cannot exactly disconnect a built-in webcam to check for
problems! Any suggestions are totally appreciated.

Oh, but it works just fine for MSN - I have the new Windows Live version.

Arghhh! This is frustrating!
