Movie Maker

Help! I have used mm to put video, music, pictures into a movie. It does not
run smooth, the video stalls and skips along, I also can not burn it to DVD.
I am new to this video realm so I know nothing about codec or time stamps or
filters. I thought I could import and go!! Now what? Is there and easier
program? Can i move what I have done to another program? Where do I look for
answers? Trouble shooting does not describe what is going on. Thanks for ANY
HELP!!!
